Rigs on the Road...

I decided to start a semi-regular feature on the types of camping rigs we see on the Alaska Highway. I'm sure there will be one or two worthy of a few words in each place we stop.

Here in Dawson Creek we came across two. The first was a rig I spotted in town while driving back from the Alaska Highway House, an interpretive center that tells the story of the highway and those who built it. The movie they show is excellent and comprehensive. Anyway, back to the rigs.

I spotted this Prevost in town and then it was parked in front of us at the campground. This guy has it all. The Prevost for comfort towing the Powerstroke Diesel with the Lance camper for those hard to reach places.

Best part of the whole thing, his license plate said "REST HM". That's my kind of rest home.

The other rig of note was a collection of Airstreams out of California. All shiny in the sun, despite the dust and mud and rain. They look like an advertisement for fun. This group should be easy to spot on the road.

We are off tomorrow and on to our great adventures.
